Hello Church Family!
This week we have celebrated Thanksgiving. I can't think of a better time of year to have a baby dedication! This Sunday, Nathan and Jacquelyn will dedicate Hannah to the Lord. Within this ritual, they declare their hope that Hannah will walk in the Lord for the rest of her life. This hope, of course, has some action steps along with it, doesn't it? This hope will affect the way they parent and even how they live their lives... as they covenant with God to lead them and guide them in His strength and wisdom.
But this hope for Hannah doesn't just affect the parents. It also requires some action steps from the family... and last but not least, the church family! Yes, that means you! We are involved in this endeavor as well. Baby dedications remind us that we are all in this together. Our prayer is that we continue in our hope by encouraging and supporting and praying for each other in the Lord... in the hope that we all might live into the life that God has for us.
So let's enter into this time with Thanksgiving and Hope! Be reminded of the great gifts God has given us... and the need to invest in them... to the delight of our Lord!
Sunday, we also start a new sermon series called Among Us: A Christmas Story. This week, we enter into Advent by looking at the first chapter in the Gospel of John. What did it mean for God to take on human flesh and walk among us? What does God have to say to you in this?
