Christmas is Here! Hope is Here! (Update for Sunday, December 25th)

Hello Church Family!

Oh the weather outside is frightful! And beautiful! How can it be both?! And yet the Christmas story has elements of both, doesn't it? The Son of God coming to Earth... but yet in the form of a baby?! And not born in a palace... a manger? And not announced to kings... but to lowly shepherds? What does this tell us about our God?

We have now arrived in the Christmas season! I know that means lots of activities and busyness to some... even relational struggles as we all try to get along with each other. And we also might have certain hopes for gifts received to be up to expectation (whether you are the giver or the receiver). Lots of complications go into these family huddles.

But let's make sure that we make space to quiet our hearts and hear the Christmas story... and remember and celebrate what it says about our God and who we are to Him. This is such an important time for us spiritually. Hope is here! The Savior has come!

One activity that will certainly help you with this is participating in one of our Christmas services. They are super simple services intentionally. There is no sermon... just the story... told through familiar carols and reading Scriptures. Time to meditate on the message of Christmas. Yes, it will take some risk to invite your whole family to come. But this year especially, with all that is going on in the world, this is a message we all need to hear.

We are offering two similar options for our candlelight services, one at 6pm on Christmas Eve and the other at 10:30am on Christmas day. That way you can choose the one that best fits your family's schedule. I hope to see you there! (Remember, the baby nursery is only available on Christmas Eve)
